Since Linnea‚Äôs Lights was cultivated from such a deep family lineage, I’ve always had a strong interest in family history. Thanks to Anthology Magazine, I’ve just come across the striking work of these Evajuliet Atelier customizable family trees.

Each tree is an archival print with an original illustration by Eva. An art director, graphic designer and illustrator, Eva works out of her Quebec design studio and creates not just family trees, but also gorgeously intricate art prints as seen on her Etsy page. Her romantic and sweet style lends itself perfectly to gift giving. A fabulous keepsake and such a thoughtful gift idea!

Pantone’s Pretty Color of 2014: Radiant Orchid

This morning I was reading some Apartment Therapy, a home design site that I adore, and found out this year’s Pantone Color of the Year has been announced: Radiant Orchid! I think this is just the pop of color I’m craving in these chilly temps and I love thinking of ways to bring the color to home decor, fashion, even nail polish! Do you think you’ll take this year’s pick for a whirl?

Via Apartment Therapy: “Here we are again, color lovers. Another December, another Color of the Year announcement from the gurus at Pantone. For the first time in a few years, I feel like things are moving in a more unexpected, bold direction. If this 2014 pick is an indication of our colorful future, then I say, let’s go, bring it on!

According to Pantone, this color is “an enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones” that “inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health”.

I believe its going to work well for interiors. It is a color that coordinates beautifully with light yellows, and, the neutral of the moment, gray, as well as with pale, warm taupes, creamy whites and soft metallics, both silver and gold.

But, the designers and consumers ultimately decide the success of these color predictions, so I’d love to know what you think of Radiant Orchid – do you see it in your home design Magic 8 ball for the coming year or is it a ‘try again later’?”
