Bringing Home Inspiration from New York Fashion Week

Hearing word that some of New York Fashion Week’s most popular runways were covered in salt (Phillip Lim) and sand (Tommy Hilfiger) and I can’t say I’m too surprised. I too have been inspired by these elements when I created our Sea Salt candle.

So if you’re looking for an easier (and less messy) way to test the trend at home, scatter a few of our summery, fresh candles around the house and be transported in style!

Celebrating Cinco de Mayo

Celebrating Cinco de Mayo is always a fun way to enjoy the warmer weather and eat some great Mexican food and fruity drinks with friends. This year I wanted to think outside the margarita box and thankfully, Bon Appétit posted great ideas for what to drink on Cinco de Mayo: Margaritas, Palomas, Micheladas, and Aguas Frescas.

My favorite of the bunch is this Watermelon-Ginger Agua Fresca. How delicious does this sound? You can make it easily to drink straight, top with sparkling water, or spike with vodka, gin, or tequila. In case you want to try it out this weekend, here is the recipe which makes about 8 cups.
Another way to garnish? Spread our Sea Salt candles around the dinner table. Mexican, margaritas, agua fresca and salt go hand in hand!

The heat wave has not let up by us, so we’ve been trying to get to the local pool with the kids as much as possible. I’ve also been making ice-cold lemonade and keeping temps down indoors with A/C and a mix of my favorite Linnea’s Lights Summer-inspired White Coral, Ocean, & Sea Salt candles close at hand. Chill out at home with candles like these or for something clean & fresh, our Garden Mint candle is also a favorite. Available from Oliver’s Twist.

How are you all holding up in this heat?

We’re so excited to share with you that Linnea’s Lights candles have been featured in a recent photoshoot on The Everygirl blog! Another one of our favorites, Cassandra LaValle of popular lifestyle blog Coco + Kelley, styled a table that took our breath away and I can’t tell you how thrilled we were to take part. I fell in love with the beautiful nautical wedding table, photographed by the oh-so-talented James Moes. We were absolutely blown away by the attention to detail – gorgeous place settings, sophisticated place cards, charming seashell adorned chairs, and of course, perfectly-themed party favors courtesy of yours truly! Our Sea Salt scent went along perfectly with the theme of the wedding, and we’re just so glad we were able to take a part in it. You can get your own Sea Salt candle here!

Plus, enjoy a few more of these stunning outtakes, over on Coco + Kelley. We are head over heels!

Dreaming of Summer: Introducing the New Sea Salt Candle!

This warm weather makes me so happy but I have to say, it already has me dreaming of summer. I can’t wait for a little family summer getaway and am already starting to make plans for where we’ll go. In honor of warmer days and exciting summer adventures, I’d like to introduce to you our newest scent, Sea Salt!

Inspired by our summer journey to Saint Cyr sur Mer, a sleepy, coastal town in the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region in southeastern France. We chartered a boat and took to the turquoise waters, enveloped by the smell of salty air and inspired by the way natural salts were infused in coastal delicacies, fresh from the sea like mussels & the region’s infamous bouillabaisse. Invigorating.

I love to have Sea Salt lit while I reminisce about all the fun times we had in France, taking in all the lovely scenery and scents of Saint Cyr sur Mer. What kinds of summer getaways are you dreaming about?

Stock up now and bring the ocean home to you, available at Terrain!
